Our Mission:

Save Courtyard Estates.

Courtyard Estates is a mobile home park in the Clintonville neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio that allows low-income, disabled seniors to live independently when they may not otherwise be able to.

Courtyard residents are under threat from a luxury developer, Preferred Living, which has purchased the land and has plans to build a 3 story ~140 unit luxury apartment complex on the site. Plans have been rendered for a complex on the parcel of land Courtyard sits on.

You can help the residents of Courtyard Estates protect their homes and way of life from developers who seek to put profit over the well-being of longtime Clintonville residents. Read on.

What We’re Doing

To protect the seniors in Courtyard Estates from the threat of redevelopment and to ensure sustainable housing for their future, we are pursuing self-ownership. This would mean the seniors themselves will buy out the mobile home park.

70+ is also the average age of Courtyard’s residents. The youngest is 55 and the oldest is in their mid-90s.

The number of luxury apartment complexes currently in Clintonville that are, as yet, not filled to capacity. There’s no reason to kick seniors out of their homes, especially when there are plenty of luxury apartment options in Clintonville and beyond with open space.

The Clintonville Resource Center supports the seniors by providing busses for transportation and printing services for community newsletters, as well as supporting some in Courtyard with assistance for their basic needs like food, rent, and utilities.
